Clark Frost Freed on Intoxication Charge.

Two Get Sentences for Bootlegging.

Childs Fined $600.00 and Costs
In Court Last Week.

District Court all last week was mostly criminal matters, with Judge Dan Hamilton on the bench. Cleo Childs of Des Moines, charged with illegal transportation of liquor was fined $600.00 and costs. He put up a stay bond, signed by a Des Moines Surety Co., and approved by the Polk county clerk of courts. The bond is good for six months.

Leonard Rexroat of Searsboro, who was found guilty of bootlegging by the jury was given three months in the county jail and fined $300.00. If the fine is not paid he will serve an additional three months. Earl Wisecarver of Grinnell, who was also found guilty on the same charge was given the same fine as Rexroat. Both men are now in jail.

Sherman and Sterling Delk of Searsboro pleaded guilty to the charge of assault to commit great bodily injury, and were given a year each at Anamosa. Sheriff Bob Gregson took the men down to serve their sentence shortly after their pleading here.

Clark Frost of Grinnell, who had been indicted by the grand jury on a charge of driving a car while intoxicated, stood trial Friday, and was found not guilty by the jury. The jury retired to their deliberations at four o'clock and reached the verdict at seven-thirty that same evening.
