AT SEARSBORO

Four men are in jail at Montezuma, and two others are being sought, after the stabbing of Carl Hinegardner and John Farmer at a barn dance near Searsboro Saturday night. The injured men are from Montezuma.

A charge of attempted murder was filed against Sherman and Sterling Delk and they will appear at a preliminary hearing next Monday at 10 a.m. Bill Delk, arrested for carrying concealed weapons, waived preliminary hearing, and was bound over to the grand jury, with bond set at $1,000.

The three Delk brothers, of Searsboro, and Floyd Stepp of near Kellogg, were arrested by officers as they were leaving the dance. Officers said they were all carrying knives, and one a pair of brass knuckles. Jack Delk and Menvil Stepp were also sought Sunday.

Witnesses were unable to say what caused the quarrel at the dance.
