Grinnell (IA) Herald (1884)

MARRIED

BARTON-HOTT.--In this city, Wednesday evening, Sept. 11, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. John Hott, by Rev. E. English, Mr. John Barton and Miss Clara E. Hott.

The ceremony was witnessed by the family only, but the happy pair were the recipients of quite a number of useful and valuable presents. John was at his accustomed place of business at Hamlin's furniture store at an early hour Thursday morning, but stayed only long enough to open the store and sweep out, thereby winning a new hat on a wager. The bride and groom are both very worthy young people, and the HERALD wishes them all the joy that falls to the lot of mortals. They will immediately take up their residence in the DeCamp property, in east Grinnell, where they will be at home to their friends.
