FORMER MONTEZUMA COUPLE OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY JAN. 5

Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Wilsterman and Mr. and Mrs. William Tish and Billie of Grinnell, and Mrs. Walter Tish of Ames were in Swea City on Sunday, Jan. 5, to attend the Golden Wedding Anniversary observance of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Tish. Mrs. Wilsterman is a sister of Mr. Tish. Another sister, Mrs. Wayne Thompson of Portland, Ore., with Mr. Thompson also attended. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson, brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. Tish, and who were the wedding attendants of fifty years ago, were present.

The guests all attended church services at the First Baptist church in Swea City where the honored couple and their attendants were presented corsages. At noon, a buffet dinner was served in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Larson, son-in-law and daughter of the honored couple. At two o'clock in the afternoon a program was presented in the American Legion Hall. Punch and cake were served.

Lived Near Montezuma

Mr. and Mrs. Tish were married Jan. 7, 1914 and lived on a farm near Montezuma for two years. They have lived in the Swea City area since then and own the farm where they have made their home since 1919. Mr. Tish is a pilot and maintains a Cherokeee four place plane on his farm. He began flying lessons at the age of sixty. He and Mrs. Tish left from Sioux Falls, S. Dakota by jet on Jan. 8 for Los Angeles, Calif., to visit a brother, Tracey Tish, who lives near Culver City.

Children of the couple sponsored the event for their parents: Lawrence Tish of Blue Earth, Minn.; Mrs. Floyd Stewart of Moline, Ill.; Mrs. Lowell Larson of Swea City; Mrs. Henry Dontje of Ledyard; Marvin Tish, at home; Marion Tish of Spirit Lake; Mrs. Kenneth Mullarkey of Swea City.
