Miss Lois Gilbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd D. Gilbert of Grinnell was selected to represent "Miss Iowa" in the annual Cherry Blossom event of the nation's capital city.

The event was held at the USO Lafayette Square club in Washington, D.C., Friday night, April 6. A queen was selected Friday night and Saturday night the Cherry Blossom Ball was held.

Miss Gilbert has been working in Washington, D.C. for the past year. She is employed by the United States Air Force Aero-nautical Chart and information center.
