Des Moines: Union Hist. Co., 1880.OWEN, ALBERT—Scott Twp—pg 769. Farmer, section 28, P.O. Montezuma. Born in Chester county, Pennsylvania, April 15, 1816, where he grew to manhood on a farm. He married November 5, 1839, Miss Hannah Powell. Mr. Owen is a miller and mill-wright by trade. In 1854 he came West with his family and located in Moline, Illinois, where he worked at his trade for five years; he then moved on a farm in Henry county, Illinois, where he lived till 1868, and then came to this county and improved 160 acres, where he now lives; he lived in his moving wagon until his house was built. His farm is now well improved, with a fine bearing orchard. They have one son and one daughter: Benjamin F. (married Miss Inez Lowes) and Mary (now Mrs. John Z. Noel).
