Page 866JUDD, E.P.--Farmer and stock-raiser, section 36, P.O. Malcom. Born in Orange county, Vermont, June 29, 1813, and was there educated and raised until about nineteen years of age, when he moved to Genesee county, New York, and resided there about four years. Has always followed agricultural pursuits. He moved to Illinois in 1835, and purchased a farm and resided there until 1876, when he came to Poweshiek county and was married in 1837, to Miss Sarah Rearick, of Buffalo. They have seven children living: Laura (now Mrs. A. Shefflet, of this county), Caroline (now Mrs. Dr. J.W. McDowell, Malcom), Emma (now Mrs. O.J. Seirle), Lenora (now Mrs. Terrebery), Minerva (now Mrs. Joseph Carpenter), Douglas E. and Mark L. They have lost one. Mr. Judd began life without any appreciable means and now owns about two thousand acres of land, all under cultivation. His buildings are among the finest in the neighborhood. His farm is well stocked.
