BAUER, AUG. - Bear Creek Twp - pg 823. Brooklyn. Born in the city of Spyer, Bavaria, Germany, October 31, 1851. Came to New York in 1854 with his parents, residing for a time in Brooklyn. After a residence in the States of Delaware and Indiana, the subject of this sketch came to Iowa, locating at Montezuma, and has been a resident of Poweshiek county since. He was married in 1875 to Miss Lavina Weaver, of Ohio. By this union they have two children: Harry and Jennie. Mr. Bauer is a Master Mason. He has been in the employ of the C., R.I.&P.R.R. for a number of years, and is among its trusted employees.
