GORDON, DAVID, Jr. - Jackson Twp - pg 670-1. P.O. Montezuma. His parents both emigrated early in life from their native Scotland to America, and settled in Ohio, where they were married January 9, 1858. His mother - s maiden name was Margaret Cook. They came to this county in July, 1858. David was born in Montezuma, October 20, 1858. He was raised on a farm, and well educated in this county. He married, December 24, 1879, Miss Lavina Inman of Deep River township, who was born in Mahaska county, Iowa, February 1, 1857. Mr. Gordon is, at present, a teacher in the public school, and a young man of fine promise.
