Farmer, section 9, P.O. Montezuma. A native of Highland county, Ohio. Born June 7, 1840, and when young commenced farming. In the fall of 1860 he came to this county and engaged in his previous calling, and is now the owner of 240 acres of improved land. During the war he enlisted, in the spring of 1861, in company H, Third Iowa Infantry, and served until May, 1865, when he was mustered out. His marriage was in this county January 7, 1871, to Miss Alice Bowman. Their family consists of three children: Lena, Anna and Vema
