SMITH, J.S. — Jackson Twp — Farmer, section 26, P.O. Sherman. Was born in Greene county, Ohio, December 9, 1832, and after receiving an education in the common schools, came to this county when nineteen years old, and has since made it his home. He is the owner of eighty acres of land, mostly improved. He has a good residence, nicely situated, commanding a view of the country around for several miles. He was married in this county May 30, 1852, to Miss Charlotte A. Sanders. They have nine children: Cap., Eliza C., Francis E., George S., Naomi, Fannie M., Charles M., Samuel W. and Milbourne.
