HOTT, JOHN.--Car repairer in C., R.I. & P. yard, Brooklyn. Was born in Jefferson county, Ohio, August 3, 1833. Was there raised until he attained the age of ten years, when the family removed to Holmes county Ohio. After a residence in Holmes county for a number of years, the subject of this sketch came to Davenport, where he resided for a time, after which he moved to Marshall county, and resided until 1857, when he came to Brooklyn. He was married in 1860 to Miss Martha Norris. By this union they have three children: Laura, Clara, Ernest. Mr. Hott is a carpenter by trade, but for a number of years has been in the employ of the C., R.I. & P. R.R. yard as car repairer.
