Passed Away.

Edwin J. Clark, eldest son of Capt. D.B. Clark, died yesterday morning at half-past three o'clock, at the residence of his father, in the thirty-second year of his age. The funeral will take place at one o'clock today, Friday, at the residence of his father. The friends of the family are invited to attend.

The deceased, although a comparatively young man, was one of the oldest residents of this section--having emigrated hither with his father some twenty years ago. Never possessed of a vigorous constitution, he became greatly broken in health some five years ago, and gradually declined under the encroachments of that insidious disease, consumption, until the day of his death. Though his demise has been considered only a question of a little time, his death was sudden, for we had the pleasure of meeting him upon our streets one day this week.

He leaves a wife and one or two children to mourn an irreparable loss. We extend our heartfelt condolence to them, and to the family of D.B. Clark, on this sad occasion.

Edwin served in the 44th Iowa Infantry Company D.
