Paul Beezley's Injuries Fatal
OLDTIME RESIDENT OF YORKTOWN EXPIRES IN ONE WEEK AFTER ACCIDENT
Deceased Settled Upon a Farm in Page County In 1869--Lost Two Wives--Three Brothers Live In Nebraska.

YORKTOWN, IA., Dec. 28, 1914
Paul Beezley, who fell at the home of his nephew, Elmer Beezley, the first of last week, died Thursday morning.Owing to his advanced age, the injury was incurable. Mr. Beezley, known as "Uncle Paul", lived alone on West Main Street near his sister, Sarah and brother Henry. His relatives were willing to care for him in his declining years but Paul preferred the quiet of his own home.
He was the eldest of a family of ten children, eight brothers and two sisters. He was born January 10, 1832 in Fulton County, ILL., and died December 24, 1914, making him almost 83 years old.
Mr. Beezley came to Page County in the fall of 1869, making his home on a farm in Tarkio township, until 1895, when he moved to Yorktown, where he had since lived.
He was married in December 1859, to Emeline Guthrie. Two children were born to this union and both died in infancy. The wife died in the spring of 1872. Mr. Beezley married a second time, the second marriage being in 1877. This wife he lost in 1881.
He enlisted in the One Hundred and Third Illinois Infantry and served three years.
The brothers and sisters living are Henry Beezley of Yorktown. Harrison Beezley of Red Cloud, Neb., David Beezley of Burchard, Neb., Marion Beezley of Auburn, Neb., and Sarah Beezley of Yorktown.
The funeral service was preached by: Rev. Joseph Penn at the Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
With the flowers was placed a large American Flag upon the coffin. Music was furnished by Misses Edna Morley and Francena Castle and Logan Castle.
