Carrie Scott
(July 6, 1881 – Feb 13, 1918)Mrs. Carrie Scott was born in Logan County, Illinois, July 5, 1881, and died at her home in Macedonia, IA., Feb 13, 1918. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Clayton and came with them to this county when a small child. She was married in 1898 to Mr. John Dawson and to this union was born five children, four of whom are living. She was married to A. R. Scott in 1910 and two children were born to them. Mrs. Scott was a devoted mother, a faithful wife and a good neighbor. She is survived by her aged father and mother, her husband, six children – Viola, Mervin, Corena and Howard Dawson, Marjorie and Leroy Scott – several brothers and sisters and a host of friends. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Friday afternoon, Rev. N. P. Barton preaching the sermon. The pall bearers were: G. M. DeBolt, J. W. Park, J. N. Perks, L. A. Richardson, O. O. Taylor, P. O. Taylor. Those in attendance from out of town were: Mrs. Frank Houser, Silver City; Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Clayton, Council Bluffs; Mrs. R. V. Turner and two daughters, Panora, IA.
