In Oklahoma, November 8, 1903, Margaret A, widow of Rufus P. Mann, and daughter of Deacon Nathan and Lucy Dearborn, aged 81 years and 4 months. She was born in Morgan County, Ohio, July 8, 1822; was married August 2, 1842, and lived in widowhood for thirty eight years. At about the age of 16 she obtained hope in Christ and undertook to live a Christian life without church relations, but found that she could not do so, and when her husband was converted soon after their marriage, they united with the Windsor Baptist church, of which her parents had been constant members, with which also all her brothers and sisters, except one, and all her children united. She was possessed of a strong personality, keen intellect, and was a practical Bible student and enthusiastic missionary. She retained her faculties to a remarkable degree, to the last. Of her seven children three died in childhood. The eldest son died two years ago, while a daughter in Florida, a son in Omaha, and a daughter in Oklahoma City survive her; also twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was the last of her father’s family. In 1872 she severed her connection with the Windsor Church, and following her children, removed first to Oakland, Ia., then to Omaha, and finally to Oklahoma. While she is missed by the fireside and in the worshiping assembly, it can be said of her, as it was said at the funeral, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord,” etc. – Baptist Journal and Messenger.
