FORMER WALNUT WOMAN DIES

Mrs. Christina Westfall Passes Away at Her Home in Atlantic.

The death of Mrs. Christina Westfall occurred at her late home in Atlantic Tuesday afternoon of last week. She had been ailing since Christmas and the death was caused by old age and a general breakdown. She was 86 years and three months of age at the time of her death. Her husband, Charles Westfall, died twelve years ago this month.

Deceased was born Mecklenburg, Germany, on August 16, 1833. In 1853 she came to America with her father and settled near Rochester, New York. There she was married in 1857 to Charles Westfall, and in 1864 the young couple moved to a farm near Iowa City, where they lived until twenty one years ago, when they again moved to a farm near Walnut. Here they lived until Mr. Westfall's death twelve years ago. His wife then moved to Walnut where she lived until 1912. When she moved to Atlantic.

She leaves seven children to mourn her death. They are Mrs. S. L. Felt of Atlantic, Charles Westfall of Iowa City, Mrs. Minnie Holderness of Riverside, Iowa, rs. Christina Lehnhardt, living south of Walnut, Mrs. Anna Jahnke of Davenport, Iowa and Eb. Westfall of Graettinger, Iowa.

She was laid to rest beside her husband in Lincoln Township cemetery.
