Obituary: Delores A. Romesburg

Delores A. Romesburg, age 95, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 8, 2013, at her home.

Delores was born April 7, 1917, in Bellevue, Iowa, to the late Herman and Ida (Freese) Dempewolf. She graduated St. Joseph High School, in Bellevue, Iowa, in 1935. Delores married Leo Romesburg on February 3, 1945, in Bellevue. They were blessed with four children. Delores was a homemaker and in 1973 began a long career as a cook for St. Albert Schools retiring in 1990. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; Altar and Rosary Society and St. Martin Des Pores Mission Guild.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Romesburg, in 1974; daughter, Ruth Brich, in 2009; son-in-law, Larry Lander, in 1999; and brother, Dr. Robert Dempewolf, M.D.

Delores is survived by her daughters, Carol Lander, Mary (Mike) Danburg; son, Steven (Lisa) Romesburg, all of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Herb Brich, of Neola, Iowa.

Recitation of the Rosary, conducted by Holy Family Altar Society, Thursday, 4 p.m. Wake Service, Thursday, 6 p.m., followed by visitation with the family until 8 p.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, 10 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with a lunch following at Holy Family's Parish Hall. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Church, St. Albert School or Hospice of SWI.
