Donald L. Versaci, 60, of Council Bluffs died June 5 at home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Council Bluffs to Joseph and Marjorie Aten Versaci. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Creighton
University. He served in the U.S. Army 1967-1971, achieving the rank of first lieutenant. He retired in 1997 after 27 years with Mutual of Omaha as vice president of computer operations. He was a youth coach for 30 years in baseball, softball and football. Most recently he was St. Albert Baseball Commissioner for Pal League and president of Youth Baseball of the Bluffs.

Mr. Versaci and his wife, Carol (Glodowski), were married 29 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Roxie.

Survivors in addition to his wife include daughter, Andrea Hunter, and husband, Jeff; sister, Carole Dugan, of Lima, Ohio; aunts; uncles; nephews; nieces.

Christian wake service will be tonight at 6:30 with visitation to follow until 8:30 at Queen of the Apostles Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dan Kirby officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 2. Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be offered to St. Albert Elementary Library and the baseball program.
