The funeral for Lyle Dean Henningsen, 62, of Council Bluffs will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel with the Rev. Roger Prescott
officiating.

Mr. Henningsen died May 28 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born March 28, 1941, in Shelby County to Carl E. and Daisy (Mutum) Henningsen. He previously lived in the Elk Horn area, moving to Council Bluffs 40 years ago. He attended school in Elk Horn. He worked in the trucking
industry for nearly 40 years, most recently with Roadway Co. He was a member of American Legion and Council Bluffs Fish & Game Club.

Mr. Henningsen and his wife, Norma D. (Dafford), were married 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne; and a sister, Delores.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Michael and wife, Theresa, of Grand Forks, N.D., Carl and wife, Tammy, of Papillion, Neb., and Kevin and wife, Katie, of Omaha; nine grandchildren; brothers-in-laws, Robert Dafford and wife, Connie, of Massena, Rex Dafford of Missouri; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Nehring and husband, Denny, of Atlantic and Beverly Knudtson of Georgia; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a luncheon at the residence. Burial will be in Monroe Cemetery in Walnut followed by a luncheon at the AMVETS Club in Walnut.

Memorials may be offered to American Heart Association.
