13 May 2003GLENWOOD - Carlton "Chris" Christensen, 75, of Silver City died May 12 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.
He was born in Persia and previously lived in Council Bluffs before moving to Silver City in 1972. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-47, and was a railroad engineer. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eagles and the United Methodist Church in Silver City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen, in 1989.
Survivors include his daughters, Kristie Burgoin and husband, Bob, of Silver City, Ricki Achenbach and husband, Lonny, of Glenwood, Cynthia Davidson of Council Bluffs; sons, Brett Christensen and wife, Lisa, and Terry Christensen, all of Silver City; sister, Rose Miller and husband, Gale, of Littleton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lynn Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be Silver City Cemetery in Silver City.
A memorial fund has been established.
