Ronald M. Christiansen, 66, of Neosho, departed this life Sept. 16, 2010, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Christiansen was born July 12, 1944, to Arthur and Thelma (Wellman) Christiansen in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The family lived in Neola, Iowa, and he attended the St. Joseph Catholic School, from which he graduated in 1962. On Nov. 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to Paula G. Southall and to this union three children were born. In 1992, he and Paula moved to Anderson to run her family’s farm. He was also employed at Agile Manufacturing in Anderson until his retirement in 2009. Ronald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Robert Christiansen and Denny Christiansen.

Ronald is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Michael Christiansen and wife, Amy, of Nevada, Iowa, and Jeff Christiansen of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Dawn Shedarowich and husband, Paul, of Gilbert, Iowa; his mother; two sisters, Betty Honz and husband, Wayne, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Bonnie Boughton of Omaha, Neb.; three brothers, Bill Christiansen of Terry, Miss., Phil Christiansen and wife, Nellie, of Terry, Miss., and Larry Christiansen of Neola, Iowa; and eight grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Justin Monaghan officiating. A prayer service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday with visitation to follow until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer society.
