Wesley H. Ferrel, 74, of Council Bluffs died May 10 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of the Council Bluffs and Omaha area.

He was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Council Bluffs to George and Clara (Groth) Ferrel and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947. He worked as a milkman for the former Graystone Daily in Omaha for 15 years then as a route man for McGrath Vending Co. for 15 years and retired in 1992.

He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, the Broadway United Methodist Men's Club, Omaha Family Campers, Nebraska Newmar Campers and Iowa Family Motor Coach Association.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann (Blanchard) who died in 1992.

He is survived by his wife Ione (McGinnis) Ferrel of Council Bluffs; a daughter, Roberta Hagemann and husband, Ken, of Omaha; three sons, Roger and wife, Patricia, of Omaha, Warren and wife, Celia, of Omaha, Kent and wife, Terri, of Council Bluffs; two stepdaughters, Jan Burton and husband, Russell, of Omaha, Patty Jensen and husband, Dan, of Omaha; a stepson, James Hanna and wife, Rose, of Omaha; a sister, Dorothy Jean Cameron and husband, Duane, of Council Bluffs; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation with family will be Monday evening from 5 to 8 at the family residence.

Memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Broadway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Arnpriester officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow.

Burial of the ashes will be at a later date.

Arrangements are being made by Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.
