GRISWOLD - The funeral for Arlene E. Coley, 75, of Macedonia will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Broadway Christian Church, 27th and Ave. A, followed by a luncheon at the church.

Mrs. Coley died April 18 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born June 16, 1927, in Sioux Falls, S.D., one of 14 children born to Clifford and Alma (Peterson) Benson. When she was 7 years old, the family moved to Park River, N.D., near Grand Forks. As a young woman, she returned to Sioux Falls to work and later moved to Omaha to work. She was a homemaker and enjoyed providing for her husband and family. She enjoyed gardening and her family was intensely important to her. She and her husband moved to Griswold in 1974 and to Macedonia in 1998.

Mrs. Coley and her husband, Fred, were married March 28, 1953, in Council Bluffs in his parents' home with his father as the minister. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Casey Bartlett; brothers, Arnold Benson, Gus Benson, Bob Benson, Virgil Benson, Stanley Benson and Alan Clifford Benson; and sister, Wanna Benson.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her children and grandchildren, Bob Olsen and his wife, Marlene, of Council Bluffs and their daughters, Jennifer and Amy, Dick Olsen and his wife, Diana, of Polk City and their son Leif, Bill Coley and his wife, Shari, of Moline, Ill., and their son, Jake, and Mara Weaver and her husband, Kelly, of Griswold and their sons, Keenan and Colin; one brother, Earl Benson; five sisters, Maxine Lang, Jean Andersen, Donna Farrell, Iona Lang and Elaine Anderson.

Open visitation will be at Duhn Funeral Home and family will be present from 6 to 8 tonight. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Macedonia Cemetery in Macedonia.

The family requests memorials be made to Broadway Christian Church in Council Bluffs.
