Melinda M. Deupree

Funeral for Melinda M. Deupree, 84, of Council Bluffs will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Persia with the Rev. Dale Jenson officiating.

Mrs. Deupree died March 27 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

She was born May 19, 1918, in Persia to Archie Hammond and Marie Martens.

She moved to Council Bluffs in 1977. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Persia.

Mrs. Deupree was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on Sept. 19, 2001. They were married 63 years. She also was preceded in death by grandson, Bryan Deupree.

Survivors include a daughter, Karleen Risner, of Council Bluffs; three sons, Robert and wife, Marilyn, of Marshalltown, Arlon and wife, Nellie, and Dwain, all of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Darlene Arp of Carpenter, Wyo., and Loretta Hart and husband, Eldon, of Sheridan, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Persia, with lunch to follow.
