Ruth M. Goldapp

Ruth M. Goldapp, 97, of Council Bluffs died March 26 at home.

She was born Feb. 22, 1906, in Honey Creek to Clay and Anna (Walker) Reel. She lived on a farm just south of Bentley where she was a farmer's wife for many years. She moved to Council Bluffs in 1959 and worked at Jennie Edmundson Hospital as a baker for 25 years. She baked more than 108,000 pies there before retiring in 1985. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Mrs. Goldapp was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Goldapp Sr., in 1958; son, Elmer Goldapp Jr. in 1996; and grandsons, Ed Goldapp in 1974 and Rodney Rodenburg in 1963.

Survivors include daughter, Rosalie Rodenburg, and husband, Lyle, of Neola; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Goldapp, of Bentley; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Eberhard A. Hering officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery with a lunch following at Tish's Restaurant.

Memorials may be offered to Jennie Edmundson Hospital or Underwood Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
