The funeral for Richard Bert Allen, 67, of Underwood will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with Elder Charles F. Angeroth Jr. officiating.

Mr. Allen died March 23 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born in Council Bluffs. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He was a farmer for 36 years. He was a member of Community of Christ Church.

Mr. Allen and his wife, Charlene (Miller), were married 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Virginia Allen.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Lesa Kraft, and husband, Richard, of Underwood; two sons, Doug and wife, Kathy, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mark of Underwood; sister, Sandra Larsen, and husband, Larry, of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Melanie and Savannah Allen and Robbie and Jake Kraft.

Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Community of Christ and American Heart Association.
