Charles H. Bingham

Memorial services for Charles H. Bingham, 69, of Council Bluffs will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Southside Christian Church with the Rev. Gary Hollers officiating with a luncheon to follow. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 2.

Mr. Bingham died March 22 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

He was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Strahan to William Bingham and Mildred Hilton Bingham. He previously lived in the Malvern area, moving to Council Bluffs more than 50 years ago. He was a graduate of Malvern High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a woodworker for General Woodworks & Bloom & Kaydee. He was a member of Southside Christian Church.

Mr. Bingham and his wife, Phyllis (Gilleland), were married 50 years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Bingham, in 1972.

Survivors in addition to his wife include daughters, Robin Harvey and husband, Dan, of Macedonia and Sheri Dorris and husband, James, of San Antonio; a son, Brian, and wife, Brenda, of Council Bluffs; granddaughters, Alaura and Holly Bingham; brother, Lawrence Bingham, of Slayton, Minn.

Burial will be at Malvern Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be offered to Southside Christian Church.

Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
