Helen M. Rolfe

Helen M. Rolfe, 79, of Council Bluffs died March 19 at home.

She was born June 13, 1923, in Council Bluffs to Homer R. Smith and Edythe H. (McKinley) Smith. She was a 1941 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a homemaker. She worked several years in the Auto License Department at Pottawattamie County Courthouse.

Mrs. Rolfe was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald "Jack," on Sept. 19, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Edythe Helen Buck, on Feb. 24, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Aherns, and husband, Jerry, of Council Bluffs; a son, Paul C. Rolfe, and wife, LaNette, of New Braunfels, Texas; granddaughter, Lori Vanderhoof, and husband, Chad, of Red Oak; three great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Chapel. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Leggett of New Life Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Garner Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Prime Care Hospice c/o Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
