In Memory: Darwin Chipman

Funeral for Darwin Chipman, 85, of Shelby will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Shelby with Mr. Orris Drake officiating.

Mr. Chipman died November 4 at home. He was born in rural Shelby. He attended country school. He worked for Shelby County and was a member of Shelby United Methodist Church.

Mr. Chipman was preceded death by his wife, Evelyn, in 1994.

Survivors include two daughters Marlene Andersen and husband, Merlyn, of Delaware and Virginia Cheney and husband Robert, of Milton, Florida; two brothers, Alvin and wife, Lois, of Walnut and Millard and wife, Millie, of Shelby; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca day evening.

Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery.
