Elwood G. Ackley

Elwood Gordon Ackley, 80, of Council Bluffs died March 12 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born May 24, 1922, in Sunbury, Pa., to George and Mary Ackley. He lived in Council Bluffs for 30 years. He was an over-the-road truck driver.

Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Ackley and friend, Jason Ramsdell, of Council Bluffs, Irene Loss of Pennsylvania and Kathy of Pennsylvania; three sons, Elwood Jr., Eugene and Kenneth, all of Pennsylvania; longtime companion, Helen, of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Clayton and Breanna Ramsdell, of Council Bluffs and Gordon Ackley of Pennsylvania.

There will be no service. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.
