In Memory: Velma O. Guill

Velma O. Guill, 81 of Minneapolis, Kansas, died there March 17.

She was born June 24, 1919 in Neola to Harvey and Sadie (Vallier) Welbourn. She lived in Council Bluffs before moving to Minneapolis in 1995.

She was an elementary school teacher for 43 years in Council Bluffs and taught in the Catholic school system from 1966 to 1987. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Guill was preceded in death by her husband Dallas on September 16, 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Mona Gilmore of Salina, Kansas and Diane M. Guill of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; and a son, Douglas L. of Salina.

Funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Hazel Dell Church.

Memorials may be offered to the Diabetes Association.
