In Memory: Gorden Schroder

Funeral for Gorden Schroder, 63, of Shelby was held Friday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca with the Rev. John Rinde and Lay Assistant Wayne Paulsen officiating.

Mr. Schroder died October 15 at his home. He was born in rural Hancock. He was a 1957 graduate of Avoca High School. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 months and the Reserves for 12 years. He was a farmer, truck driver, hired hand and carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Avoca.

Mr. Schroder and his wife, Jamece, were married 41 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Shari Roling, and husband, Mark, of Northridge, California; one son, Dale, and wife, Connie, of Avoca; one sister, Phyllis Klindt, and husband, Max of Avoca; three brothers, Lenard and wife, Annabel, of Kimballton, Loren and wife, Elaine, of Avoca and Marvin and wife, Carole, of Walnut; three grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Thursday evening at Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
