Frances M. Rutledge

Frances Marie Rutledge, 90, of Council Bluffs died March 3 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born Jan. 31, 1913, in Blanchard, Mo. She later moved to Macedonia where she and her husband farmed until 1955 and moved to Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Rutledge was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, on April 22, 1922. Also preceded in death by three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Donald Rutledge of Council Bluffs, Dennis Rutledge and wife, Sandra, of Council Bluffs, Gary Rutledge and wife, Marilyn, of Omaha, Darwin Rutledge and wife, Sandlyn, of Post Falls, Idaho; two daughters, Rheda Long and husband, Bill, of Norfolk, Neb., Linda Snyder and husband, Thomas, of Omaha; sister, Gladys Strassheim, of Aurora, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. David Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to First Christian Church.
