August Turk, aged 73 years, and a citizen of Pottawattamie county for over forty years, died about 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Mercy hospital from old age, complicated by asthma. He had been ill about seven months. He was born July 5, 1839, removing early in life to Minden, where he resided until quite recently. He was a member of the German Lutheran church.

He is survived by one daughter and two sons --Mrs. Charles Plumer of Mills county, Edward Turk, residing on North Fifteenth street, Council Bluffs and Fred Turk, Prince Rupert, Canada.

The remains were taken to Woodring’s undertaking parlors, where they will be held pending arrangements for the funeral. The body will probably be taken to his old home at Minden for burial.
