Carol E. Thomsen

Carol E. Thomsen, 74, of Council Bluffs died Feb. 20 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Council Bluffs to Fred and Mabel (Jorgensen) Thomsen. She lived in Council Bluffs most of her life and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She taught X-ray technology at the University of Nebraska for 20 years and became an administrator at Iowa Western Community College in 1983. She also worked in a clerical position for the Social Security Administration.

Mrs. Thomsen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marilyn; and a brother, Freddie.

Survivors include a sister, Peggy Bonebrake of Council Bluffs; a brother, Thomas Thomsen and wife, Rosie, of Branson, Mo.; nieces; nephews; and care giver Patti Johnson of Council Bluffs.

Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Prescott officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the American Diabetes Association.
