Shirley F. Agnew

Shirley F. Agnew, 70, of Council Bluffs died Feb. 21 at her home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Pottawattamie County to Alfred and Ethel (Messenger) May. She lived in Council Bluffs all of her life and worked as a homemaker. She participated in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Mrs. Agnew was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1997 and a sister, Bonnie Rolfe.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Vanderloo and husband, Keith, of Council Bluffs; four brothers, Robert May and wife, Jean, Richard May and wife, Ruth, Ralph May and wife, Bev, all of Council Bluffs, and Gary May of Missouri; sister-in-law Winnie Tarrant and husband, Carl, of Council Bluffs; two granddaughters, Amanda Vanderloo and Tammy Lin, both of Council Bluffs; two great-grandsons, Kevin and Jacob Lin, both of Council Bluffs; special friends Mike and Connie Agnew of Council Bluffs; nieces; and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Hollers, pastor at Southside Christian Church, officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home for the cortege to the cemetery.

Burial will be at Cedar Lawn, with a lunch following at Southside Christian.

Memorials may be offered to Southside Christian Church.
