In Memory: Eric W. Benning

Eric W. Benning, 19, of Neola died Friday, September 2 at NHS University Hospital in Omaha following an automobile accident near Neola.

Eric was born in Council Bluffs and lived in Neola. He graduated from Tri-Center High School in May and was a student at Iowa Western Community College. He worked as an auto detailer at Lake Manawa Nissan in Council Bluffs.

Survivors include his mother, Abbie Benning of Neola; father, Steve Benning of Council Bluffs; brothers Marvin of Council Bluffs and Travis and Dustin of Neola; grandparents, Mary Swanson of Neola and Floyd and Ruth Benning of Council Bluffs; and great-grandmother Emma Benning of Iowa Falls.

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening at St. Patrick's Church in Neola. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Church in Neola with the Rev. Daniel Kirby officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Neola.

A memorial fund has been established at Farmers & Merchants State Bank.
