In Memory: Robert J. Dixon

Funeral Mass for Robert J. Dixon, 78, of Council Bluffs was held Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Chuck Kottas officiating.

Mr. Dixon died November 30 at Alegent Health Mercy Hospital.

He was bon in Neola and graduated from Beebeetown High School in 1941. He worked for the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital laundry department for 10 years and for Mell's pest control and landscape. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1045.

Mr. Dixon and his wife, Helen, were married 26 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Carol Jeffers of Garland, Texas, Kathy Ellison and husband, Merle Dierdorf, of Plano, Texas, and Patty Foley and husband, Greg, of Houston; a son, Rick Ellison, and wife, Caryn, of Boulder, Colorado; three sisters, Catherine Anderson of Ute, Frances Wright of Wheatridge, Colorado, and Cecilia Gilmore of Pequennock, N.J.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A wake service was held Sunday at 7:30 P.M. at Belford-O'Neill Funeral Home, followed by visitation with the family.

Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to St. Albert Schools or St. Peter's Catholic Church.
