In Memory: Darlene Sharrett

Darlene E. Sharrett, 74, of McClelland died August 5, 2000 at NHS University Hospital in Omaha.

Born at Bentley, Iowa, she graduated from Underwood High School and spent most of her lifetime in McClelland. She was employed part-time by the U.S. Post Office in McClelland.

A long-time member of the McClelland Town Council, Darlene was also a member of the McClelland Women's Fireman's Auxiliary and assisted with the Election Board. She was instrumental in coordinating the roller skating rink at the McClelland Community Center.

Darlene and her husband William were married for fifty-six years, until his death April 20, 2000.

She is survived by her son Roy and his wife Jodi of Omaha; two daughters, Sandy and her husband Phil Feller of McClelland and Beverly Dumont of Antlers, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Van Lobendo and Cyril Lobendo, both of Council Bluffs; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family was held Monday evening at MeyerWoodring Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Funeral service was Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Delbert Story, retired pastor of Hazel Dell Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Cedar Lawn' Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to the McClelland Town Hall.
