Betty Ann Rodenburg

Betty Ann Rodenburg, age 82, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Underwood, Iowa, passed away February 7, 2009, at Bethany Lutheran Home.

Betty was born July 7, 1926, in Avoca, Iowa to the late Herman and Margaret (Wissimek) Petersen, later moving to Minden, Iowa. She graduated from Underwood, Iowa High School in 1944. Betty married Wayne Rodenburg on August 31, 1947, and to this union, two daughters were born. She worked in the office of Murnan Rug and Carpet and was a homemaker. Betty was a member of Underwood Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Petersen.

Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Rodenburg of Council Bluffs; daughters, Lynda Cote and husband James of San Diego, Calif., Laura Allbritton and husband Edwin of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher J. Cote and Alison Cote; step grandchildren, Leigh Allbritton and Hillary Kokes; brothers, Herman Petersen and wife Phyllis of Titusville, Fla., Ron Petersen and wife Lee of Meadville, Pa.; sister-in-law, Esther Petersen of Medford, Ore.; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary with Rev. Dr. Eberhard A. Hering, Pastor of Underwood Lutheran Church officiating.

Interment Neola, Iowa Township Cemetery. A Lunch will follow at Underwood Lutheran Church.

Memorials are suggested to Bethany Lutheran Home. A special thank you to the entire staff at Bethany Lutheran Home for the love and wonderful care given to Betty and the Rodenburg family for the past 17 years. Wayne, Lynda, Laura and families.
