Funeral for Irvin M. Jensen, 88, of Council Bluffs will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home with Elder Ron Kerber of Community of Christ Church officiating.

Mr. Jensen died Feb. 9 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

He was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Underwood to William C. and Bessie (Scott) Jensen. He lived in Underwood his entire life, moving to Council Bluffs in January. He was a farmer his entire life in Underwood. He was a member of Community of Christ Church in Underwood and the Farm Bureau.

Mr. Jensen and his wife, Marvel (Steinberg), were married Dec. 5, 1939. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Jensen, in 1983, three brothers, and great-grandson, Sawyer Jensen.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Robert and wife, Janice, of Council Bluffs and David and wife, Killeen, of RayBun Gap, Ga.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery with a lunch following at Hazel Dell United Methodist Church Hall.

Memorials may be offered to the Underwood Community of Christ Church or American Cancer Society.
