Herbert D. Finken

MISSOURI VALLEY - Mass of Christian burial for Herbert Dale Finken, 72, of Missouri Valley will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Missouri Valley.

Mr. Finken died Feb. 9 at the Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

He was born Oct. 15, 1930, in Logan to Thomas J. and Hazel Mae (Deuel) Finken. He graduated from Logan High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a lab technician for Griffin Pipe in Council Bluffs for 30 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Mr. Finken and his wife, Nancy L. (Ranney), were married Sept. 3, 1955, in Missouri Valley.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four daughters, Mary McKenzie and husband, Michael, of Des Moines, Laurie Neemann and husband, Troy, of Chandler, Ariz., Lisa Roberts of Waukee and Barb Nielsen and husband, Chuck, of Blair, Neb.; one son, Joseph Finken and wife, Stacie, of Blair; two sisters, Evelyn Pitt and husband, Gene, of Logan and Vivian Verma of Great Barrington, Mass.; two brothers, Kenneth and wife, Margaret, of Sioux City and John and wife, Debbie, of Missouri Valley; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Prayer service will be tonight at 7 at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Burial will be in St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery in Honey Creek.
