In Memory: Gerry Chambers

Gerry Chambers, 79, of McClelland, died June 22 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born April 20, 1922, to Arthur and Lillian (Kampe) Julin of Shenandoah. She graduated from Coburg High School and attended Maryville Teachers College.

She was a teacher for the Treynor Community School System. She was a member of Mount Hope Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Group and a 50 year member of Amber Star Chapter No. 328, Order of Eastern Star and served as Grand Officer in Iowa Eastern Star in 1990. She was also a Sunday school teacher.

Mrs. Chambers and her husband, Warren, were married 57 years. They married on May 19, 1944.

Survivors in addition to her husband include three sons, Ward, and wife, Suzanne, Steve and wife, Jeanie, and Jim, and wife, Shirley, all of McClelland; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation with the family was held at Cutler Funeral Home. Funeral was held Monday at 10 A.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Russell and Don Hensen officiating. There was also an Eastern Star Service at the funeral home by Amber Star Chapter No. 328 in Quick. Burial was in Hardin Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be offered to Mount Hope Methodist Church or Amber Star Chapter No. 328.
