In Memory: Clifford Grieder
(June 3, 1908 - May 3, 2001)

Clifford "Pat" Grieder, 92, of Neola died May 3 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.

He was born in Logan to Emil and LuLu (Fletcher) Grieder and had lived in Council Bluffs for 59 years before moving to Neola two years ago.

He worked for Mercy Hospital for 27 years and was one of the first school bus drivers in Council Bluffs. He drove a school bus for 23 years and was a meat cutter for Schierbrock's Grocery in Neola.

Mr. Grieder and his wife, Hazel (Toomey), were married 66 years.

Survivors in addition to his wife include five daughters, Mary Pat Schierbrock and husband, Jerry, of Neola, Connie Schriver and husband, Jerry, and Joanne Barrier, all of Council Bluffs, Rose Zita Adams and husband, Tom of Tuttle, Oklahoma, and Pauline Roll and husband, Vern, of Santa Paula, California; a son, Leroy, and wife, Marilyn, of Council Bluffs; 28 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday at Belford O'Neill Funeral Home. Funeral was held Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dan Kirby of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola officiating. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
