Erna E. Jacks

Erna E. Jacks, 80, of Council Bluffs died Feb. 3 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born March 12, 1922, in Council Bluffs to Hans and Jennie (Möller) Pedersen. She was a 1939 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She was bookkeeper for Beno Department Store; Meyers Distributing Co.; and Broadway United Methodist Church. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Jacks was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy E., in 1988 and her son, William Jacks, in 1976.

Survivors include three daughters, Renee Hendrix of Phoenix, Karen Morrison of Omaha, and Rosalie Hansen and husband, Leslie, of Council Bluffs; one son, Kevin, of Omaha; one brother, Elmer "Pete" Pedersen, and wife, Lois, of Council Bluffs; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be tonight from 7 to 8 with a prayer service at 8 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Delwayne Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, followed by brunch at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be offered to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
