E. Lucille Phillips

E. Lucille Phillips, 87, of Council Bluffs died Feb. 2 at Risen Son Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Casey to Samuel and Elsie (Potter) Alloway. She previously lived in Kensett, Corwith, Paullina and Des Moines. She moved to Council Bluffs three years ago. She was a 1933 graduate of Des Moines East High School. She was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Phillips M.D., in 1985; her daughter, Jane E. Phillips, in 1958; and her son, Kirk E., in 1966.

Survivors include one son, John Phillips, of Neola; one sister, Mary Brough, of Ankeny; nieces, Barbara Olson of Des Moines, Susan Sanchez of Costa Mesa, Calif., Ann Servin of San Bernadino, Calif.; great-niece, Christy Campbell, and great-nephew, Steve Olson, both of Des Moines; seven great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-nephew.

There will be open visitation. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, Neb.

Memorials may be offered to the Lung Association or Iowa Public Television.
