George W. Davis 1878-1942

George W. Davis, 64, died Friday afternoon at his home in Avoca following a lingering illness.

He was born September 26, 1878, at Oakland, where he lived for several years and engaged in farming. He moved to Avoca about 10 years ago.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Chrisinger funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Gerlt and Albert Schue both of Avoca officiating. Burial will be in the Hancock cemetery.

Davis is survived by his widow, Mame; seven nephews and two nieces.
