Avoca Carpenter Ends Life by Hanging

The body of Henry Stolt, 69, Avoca carpenter, was found hanging in his room at the Booth Hotel Thursday February 1 about 2:30 pm.

Stolt was last seen in the hotel around midnight. An inquest was not held. Deputy Sheriff R. F. McKinley said that death was attributed to suicide.

Henry Stolt was born in Germany on July 15, 1875 and came to this country when he was a young man. He was a carpenter by trade and worked at this trade in Avoca for many years. He has no known relatives in this country.

Funeral services were held at the Blust Bros. funeral home Sunday February 4th at 2 pm with Rev. Joseph Gerlt in charge of the services. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.
