Passing of Former Avoca Woman

Word reached Avoca last week of the passing after a lingering illness of Mrs. Wilhelmina E. Gorman, aged 54, at Kansas City on July 24.

Mrs. Gorman was a step daughter of Fred Tanke of Avoca and though having lived in Kansas City for many years has many friends here who will mourn her passing. She was born and raised in this vicinity.

Services in the form of the recitation of the Rosary were held on Friday evening at 9:15 pm at the Funeral Home of Mellody-McGilley in Kansas City. Funeral was held from the same place on Saturday morning at 9:30 am and with services at the holy Name Church at 10 o’clock, with interment in Calvary cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Gorman, two sons, William James and Herbert F. of Kansas City and two daughters, Shirley ann and mrs. John V. Naylor also of Kansas City. Her step father, Fred Tanke; brothers: Carl Tanke and Herman Mecklenberg, and sisters Misses Emma and Ella Mecklenberg, Mrs. Frank Pickrell, Mrs. Ted Niemann of Avoca and Mrs. William Gaines of Omaha.
